cpbackup_transporter - Processing next task high memory usage

Since using the new backup functions I am getting some high load and high memory problems and was wondering if others have the same issue. The process cpbackup_transporter uses 9GB of VIRT and 5GB of RES memory causing high swap usage and high load. This happens at random on times where the backup is not scheduled. Anyone else have this?
