Spam prevention
Hey there,
We've been using cPanel for a while, but we're not just starting to get spam emails that come in, that SpamAssasin doesn't seem to be catching, and they're going through to our customers.
An example of an email is this, with a .zip attachment included in the email:
[QUOTE]Notice to appear in court,
Hereby you are notified that you have been scheduled
to appear for your hearing that will take place
in the court of Geelong in May 21, 2014 at 11:00 am.
Please bring all documents and witnesses relating
to this case with you to court on your hearing date.
Enclosed please find the copy of the court notice
for the case mentioned above.
Note: The case may be heard by the
judge in your absence if you do not come.

Hello :) You could setup an account level filter within cPanel that blocks messages with particular text or header details. You may also want to consider filtering messages that use .zip attachments by adding zip to the attachments list in the /etc/cpanel_exim_system_filter filter file (see here for instructions on modifying this file). Depending on your circumstances, it could cause you problems but we block all attachments in emails. If anyone needs to send documents, files, images etc. we use other methods. It is very rare that anyone needs to send us any sort of file which we are not expecting. 0
