Odd subdomain problems with addon domains

I have a client who wants me to setup a subdomain on one of his domains. As it currently stands, he has one domain setup as the server's hostname, which he has at godaddy (but pointed to the correct IP - he doesn't use godaddy hosting), and several other domains which were created as addon domains. I need to have a subdomain on an addon domain. I tried creating the subdomain normally, but that doesn't resolve to anything. There were no errors upon creation either, and the directory was created as per normal. How can I create a subdomain on one of the addon domains?

    Could you clarify if the hostname of the server is also used for an account? This should not happen, as it can conflict with the Apache configuration. Instead, the hostname should be one that is not hosted on the server for content (e.g. server.domain.com instead of domain.com). Thank you.

    Sorry about that. It occurs to me that my wording wasn't completely clear. The hostname of the server is ogedge.org, but there is no content there. He has various addon domains which do have content, and only the hostname is with godaddy.

    Please ensure the hostname configured in "WHM Home " Networking Setup " Change Hostname" is not the actual domain name used for the account itself. It can be a subdomain of it, such as server.domain.com, but should not be the actual domain name itself or any other sub/addon/parked domain name used for or under an account. Thank you.
