Hostname for WHM server, not IP but real name?
Hello,
i have a VPS, it has one IP. I want to install WHM there and have whm address like:
https://host21.domain.com:2087
not
http://myipaddress:2087
Please is it necessary to order another domain to have this? What are downside of using IP?
What if i have domain domain.com how to achieve its used as httpS://host21.domain.com:2087 ?

Hello :) Per the interface in WHM: [QUOTE]Your hostname must be a FQDN. In english, A hostname should consist of a name and a domain name. All valid hostnames should have 2 dots in them. Hostnames should never begin with "www". Hostnames should also not begin with a digit, nor end with a hyphen ("-").
You do not have to own the domain name, but you should at least have access to setup the "A" record for the hostname you plan to use. Thank you.0 -

Both of those URLs should work for WHM access, assuming your hostname resolves to the correct IP address. You can install a different SSL certificate for the cPanel/WHM/Webmail service via: "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Manage Service SSL Certificates" Could you clarify what you mean by the statement "I don't know how to setup it out of"? Thank you.0
