System email spamming

I have looked at a couple of different threads about this, but I haven't found anything that looks exactly like the issue I am having. I have a domain that I have the default email address set to fail. However, in the WHM in the mail queue is constantly filling up with emails that are trying to be sent out from user@servername.com . How do I combat this? Is this something I can disable through WHM/Cpanel or is this a script in the site? The site is a Joomla based site, but there are no forms set up on the website. Can a script still have been hacked and is creating these emails? Thanks.

  A Joomla script could still be used or it could be Joomla registration emails if that is enabled for the site. Spammers / hackers will create Joomla accounts as well.

  Hello :) Are you able to view the message header to see if more information is available about the source of the message? EX: exim -Mvh messageID
