RBL vs Exim banned IPs (which one consumes less memory)
I have made a script that imports the IPs banned by Exim (I use WHM for editing this list)
into my custom blacklist, however I am worried that this list may become too big, so
I have a doubt on how efficient is Exim"s memory use on this situation.
I made this setup to avoid having to create a custom web app :)
Is this a good idea or it would be better to keep the exim blacklist file size to the minimum?

It may be considered more efficient, as far as memory is concerned. to set up the blacklist as a DNSBL, then have Exim query it like it would any other RBL. I used the below instructions the first time I ever did this, which was a long time ago so you'd need to adjust accordingly for CentOS 6: [url=http://www.blue-quartz.com/rbl/]Running your own RBL DNS blacklist using rbldnsd Then to integrate with Exim: 0 -
Hello :) Yes, Vanessa's post above is good advice. It also depends on what you consider to be a large list. 100 IP addresses might seem like a lot to some users, but in reality that should not pose much of an issue as far as CPU/Memory usage. Thank you. 0
