ulimit / processes.

How do you set the ulimit for a specific user on the server? Ive tried /etc/profile /etc/security/limits.conf But its not changing... Also, in cpanel you can view Number of Processes 4 / 10 How do you raise that number up ?

  If you want to such limit for your hosting user. You will have to install cloudlinux on your server. Please check it [url=http://www.cloudlinux.com/about/features.php]CloudLinux OS

  This statistic is available if your server uses the CloudLinux operating system. You will need to adjust the Cloud Linux settings for the account to change that value. As for the ulimit values, could you verify if CloudLinux and CageFS are enabled on your system? Thank you.

  The thing is I never even installed CloudLinux.. Just out of no where it was installed on 2 of our servers. And none of us ever installed it. So we had someone do a reversal on it and get it back to normal CentOS. But even though it has been switched back, that stuff is still showing up. Where as before this awful cloudlinux was installed, everything was just fine. On top of that, we have several websites that are redirecting to "Default web page" and can't figure out how to get that back to normal. (Its like trying to uninstall Nortons from your PC)...

  It seems odd that Cloud Linux was installed on it's own. Were there any other administrators on the server that might have installed it, or perhaps your provider installed it? What method did you use to uninstall it? Thank you.

  No, we found out that our server was compromised. And that person installed it.. We had some Admins from mycpadmin uninstall it and set CentOS back up.

  Please note that if the system was compromised, anything short of reinstalling the OS completely and restoring the accounts from backup would leave open the possibility the server was still compromised. Thank you.

  Mark_CFH If you have "Shell Fork Bomb Protection" enabled you should check /etc/bashrc because here are also ulimits set.

  We got everything squared away and back to normal again, yes we have SFBP installed as well as several other items for more protection and security
