My forum is sending e-mails very slow.

When I set up a forum e-mail to send to my members (less then 3000) it takes days to send all the e-mails. Anyone know why it sends so slow? I am using IPBoard as my forum software. Thanks in advance.

  Possible suspect 1: Your mail queue is full or filled up with huge number of emails. To chech the mailqueue : root@yourhostname[~]# exim -bpc

  As a Website Owner, you probably cannot. But your Hosting Provider can.

  Shows 466 when I run the command. How can I clear it? Might their be a better way to send site e-mails that don't take forever? I currently use IPBoard for my forum software.
