purge_dead_comet_files , high disk i/o usage
Hello,
i have access to host openvz server on which is hosted openvz VPS with cpanel/whm.
I found server has high %wa value of the processor waiting.
so i did iotop -a
and found that most consuming i/o process can be purge_dead_comet_files ?

i found relation to cpanel when googled. Please any idea how to examine, decrease such i/o load? Thank you

This script simply deletes stale files from /root/.cpanel/comet, but I fail to see how this script would cause high IO. You said this was the most consuming i/o process, but "most consuming" doesn't necessarily mean "high consuming" or "over consuming". I suspect you're looking in the wrong place. 0 -
Hello :) You may want to use a command such as "sar -u" to view the disk I/O over the past couple of hours. The script you referenced does not constantly run, so it's likely to finish after a few minutes. Thank you. 0 -

That's nice, but really would not give US any indication what is causing it. It's just doubtful that it's the script in question. 0
