Hello :) Does the destination server also use cPanel? If so, you can follow the instructions from this document: Remote Restoration Note that you should ensure incremental backups are enabled on the destination server so that it detects the directories instead of the archives. Or, you could package the directories into archives if you prefer. Thank you.

Hello, because of server problems on my cpanel server, i want to reinstall the system with cpanel (again) And i want to restore the backup, that is transfered back to the new server (incremental backup[not tar.gz]) As i know, cpanel can only restore from tar.gz files. But can the new server handle the incremental backup that is created from the old server, if i copy the backup on same directory? Actually the backups are: /backup/incremental/accounts and /backup/incremental/system

Yes, simply upload those backups to their original locations after reinstalling the OS/cPanel. cPanel can actually restore incremental backup directories as long as incremental backups are enabled in the backup configuration. Thank you.

Is there a way to restore via command line? With a couple of hundred accounts, one at a time is not viable when migrating a server. I do the package first, to get most of the data, then the incremental at migration time. Also, the restorepkg seems to choke on .htaccess files, and will not restore a bunch. But, I do get an error so I know there was a problem. Thanks.

You will need to compress the incremental backup directories for the accounts into individual archives if you want to restore them via the command line using the /scripts/restorepkg utility. Thank you.
