[Case 103453] Issue with cPanel File Manager text editor?
When editing or creating a file in the text editor of the file manager, it appears to add loads of spaces at the beginning and end of the file...
This causes issues, especially with php scripts, as those spaces cause header output to fail resulting in a fatal error.
Is this a known issue, or is it just an issue with my server?

Hello :) I have been unable to reproduce this issue. Could you open a support ticket so we can reproduce the issue on your machine and attempt to determine why it's happening? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
Will do :) [COLOR="silver">- - - Updated - - - The ticket is #5043903. 0 -
To update, internal case number 103453 has been opened to address the issue with where additional spaces are prepended and appended in the content of a file when using the "File Editor" feature in File Manager on the Paper Lantern theme. Please monitor our change log for this case number in a future build of cPanel: Change Logs Thank you. 0 -

Any reply to this one??0 -
We were able to reproduce the problem, and handled it in case 110241. It appears to be fixed in 11.46. 0 -
Hello, I have checked one of my clients versions and he is on 11.44.1 (build 18) and it's not fixed in this version as it's still opening the files with spaces before the - - - Updated - - - Which, btw, his version should be fixed as well because that was covered in this case Fixed case 103453: Fixed issue with file editor appending/prepending white spaces. in this build 11.44.1.15...so his version of 11.44.1.18 should have this fix as well, but it does not. 0 -
Internal case number 110241, referenced by cPanelKenneth in the earlier post, is only available in cPanel version 11.46. This version is currently only available in the "EDGE" build tier. You can find more information about the build tiers at: cPanel & WHM Product Versions and the Release Process Thank you. 0 -
I understand, but if you also look at case 103453 referenced by you above, it was supposedly fixed in version 11.44.1.15 as well. Looking at the 11.44 change log it says this: 11.44.1.15 2014-08-13 Fixed case 39210: Transferring reseller-owned account doesn't give dedicated IP. Fixed case 103453: Fixed issue with file editor appending/prepending white spaces. So it should be fixed in that version as well...not just 11.46. 0 -
Internal case numbers 110241 and 103453 are separate issues. Case number 110241 is for a separate bug that's only addressed in version 11.46 at this time. Thank you. 0 -
Right separate bugs, but case number 103453 referenced back in version 11.44 was for the same issue...which is the file editor appending/prepending white spaces. Case number 103453 and 110241 cover the exact same issue. My point is it was supposedly fixed in 11.44 as well(case number 103453), but my client is on 11.44.1.18 and the bug still exists there. Anyway, thanks for your time. 0 -
I apologize for any confusion. To clarify, yes, it's the same problem but there were two different reasons why it was happening. Case number 110241 addresses the additional reason it was happening and the resolution is available in version 11.46. Thank you. 0
