Server unreachable problem
Hello
I am having some major problems with my server in the last few days.
First of all, I must say that I had to reboot the server after 200 days and after that these problems started.
Friday morning my EXIM stopped sending mails. I rebooted the server and it started working again.
Saturday morning EXIM again... I restarted mail server only and it started to work again.
Sunday morning - the whole server was unreachable - I rebooted the server and it started to work.
Monday morning - server unreachable again - Rebooted the server few times and it started to work.
I have to say that I am not a skilled admin. So any help would be nice. Where do I have to look to find out what is happening to my server?

This is the answer of my vps hosting provider: [QUOTE]Please notice, that you are using an completely unmanaged VPS and the whole administration is up to you. In this case, only you can investigate the reason for this issue. For example, you could investigate your event logs through your event viewer.
Where do I find event viewer? Any help?0 -
i think its about viewing log files and errors in them, suspicious excessive log entries. If you have exim issue, then watch exim log file. to find out how is this file named and where it is on server, lookup google: exim log file redhat centos or something. If you dont have firewall installed i advice config server firewall it has an WHM module to manage it. Also from WHM watch your Mail settings if there is not a fulll mail queue etc 0 -
Hello :) I suggest searching through /var/log/chkservd.log for time periods where Exim failed to see if you can get a better idea of what happened. It's possible your system was under heavy load, in which case the following thread is a good place to start: Troubleshooting High Loads On Linux Systems Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for this info... I ll check that topic and try to investigate it myself. 0
