How to limit number of mysql pid / processes to prevent memory overload

Hello, please how can i limit number of mysql processes to be created on WHM server? i want to prevent excessive memory (RAM) overload by creating too many mysql processes/connections (i have keep alive) Thank You edit: there is some setting:

  Hello :) The options listed in the thread you referenced are the best ways to limit the connections to MySQL in my opinion. Could you clarify which advice from that thread is not sufficient? Thank you.

  What are other options, not necessarilly mysql config solutions, but also php or such limits which also influence mysql number of connections / mysql memory accumulation ?
