Exim send email timed out?
Hi, sorry for posting this type of question which may upset some advanced users.
But I have read thoroughly on this page and as well other docs I may find on Google
To be honest after comparing with the errors that I see in my log with the post above I can't pinpoint exactly what is the problem Below is a description of the error I can PM a link to a PHP sendmail test form on the server if required It'd be great if you could offer assistance to solve this issue, thank you.

Hello :) Check to see if those remote mail servers are blocking connections from your server. For example, with one of the hotmail server's, you would run: telnet 65.55.37.120 25
What's the output? Thank you.0 -
Hi Michael, thank you so much for your quick reply. Lately we've had a car accident so I couldn't reply as fast. However the output from telnet to Hotmail is as follows Installed: telnet.x86_64 1:0.17-47.el6_3.1 Complete! root@ns1 [~]# telnet 65.55.37.120 25 Trying 65.55.37.120... telnet: connect to address 65.55.37.120: Connection timed out root@ns1 [~]#
How would you suggest where to start checking? Thank you.0 -
Hello, It does look like either your firewall or your ISP is blocking outgoing connections to port 25. Is this only happening with Hotmail or with any email you try to send out? If only with Hotmail, you will need to check with them to find out why you're being blocked. If it's with anyone, please check with your ISP to see if they are proxying port 25. 0 -
Thanks Peter, I have asked our Atlantic technical staff for help. It is indeed true that they block port 25 intentionally. Thank you so much for your kind help! 0 -
I am happy to see the issue is now addressed. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
