Issues with extracting files from cPanel file manager
Hello,
I have a compressed file that contains several thousand small files that I uploaded to FTP. Using the cPanel file manager to extract the files leaves me with a partial extraction (even though cPanel shows the process as still running). I tried this a couple of times. The first time I ran the extraction process 983 files were extracted; the second time, 1018 files were extracted. Am I hitting against some limit I am unaware of? How can I get a full extraction of the compressed file? Thanks for your help.
Steadford.

Hello :) Do you notice any errors output to /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when the extraction occurs? Thank you. 0 -
Hello, Thank you for your quick reply. I checked the error log and really don't see any errors related to the account I am working with at or around the time of the attempted extraction. 0 -
You may want to check if your server is hitting any VPS resource limits, assuming it's a VPS. Otherwise, feel free to open a support ticket so we can take a closer look. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
I checked with the admin and they said "This is not a limit set within your VPS configuration," so I opened a ticket (5072187) as you suggested. To update, the issue was not reproducible on a test environment. The user was advised to reach out to their provider again to see if any applications on the VPS node are killing the process. Thank you. 0
