Many apache process like /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -k start -DSSL

I don"t know what this means: I have many processes like 4853 (Trace) (Kill) nobody 0 0.0 0.1 /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -k start -DSSL The server slows down and then it hangs. Any ideas?

  Hello :) It's normal to see the "nobody" username in the process list because that's the username that Apache runs under. What's the server load when you notice it hangs? There is a guide here you may find helpful: Troubleshooting High Loads On Linux Systems Thank you.
