Hello Christian :) Thank you for your interest in branding the Paper Lantern theme. It's not yet supported, but you can find discussion of this on the following thread: Branding Paper Lantern Thank you.

Hi Christian, No, you're not missing anything. We're currently implementing the customizations chunk of Paper Lantern. With 11.46, you'll be able to both quickly customize paper lantern as well as add arbitrary CSS if you want to do something more advanced. Logos, sprites, and other chrome will all be customizable. Further we're working to create a way for you to be able to inject arbitrary content into areas in the interface so that you don't have to fork the Paper Lantern codebase or abuse the News section to communicate with your users.

That being said, definitely let us know if there are branding options you want to see. We're open to even crazy ideas at this point!

So if we can't brand it is there a way to disable it for customers? Paper Lantern doesn't appear under the 'Branding' area in my WHM and if I can't brand it I would rather make it unavailable until I can. Any ideas on how to disable Paper Lantern?

Yesterday we updated our public demo server of Paper Lantern - go.cpanel.net/paperlantern - with the new Customization support. Check out the sidebar for information about how it works. I've already created a few sample styles and there are many many more to come. Dexus, the "theme switching" checkbox in WHM's "Feature Manager" governs whether or not the theme switcher is shown to users. Simply un-check that checkbox for a feature list and the users which are assigned to that feature list won't see it anymore.

I apologize, I'm having some trouble finding the public facing docs on this. This is done by creating /var/cpanel/themes.conf and adding a newline list of what themes you want your users having access to. So in this case, you can add just the string "x3" to this file and that will be the only theme available to your users. You can also just disable the theme switcher per adam's instructions above :)
