NativeSSL Stuck cPanel DNS
Hello, we have several cPanel DNS servers - all running smoothly. However, over the past several nights we have been getting e-mail notified that cPanel update hanging:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp was running as pid '3668' for longer than 6 hours. cPanel will kill this process and run a new upcp in its place.
So - we logged into the nameserver and went to cPanel update and see that its getting stuck at 89% here:
Using currently installed Df.so
[Finished nativedf (0 seconds)]
[Starting nativessl]
sh: line 1: 4178 Alarm clock /usr/local/cpanel/bin/linktest-ssl --test 2> /dev/null
Not exactly sure what would cause this as we are new to cPanel. The other name servers - exact same equipment and software - no issues, just this one. Keep me posted on your thoughts. Thank you.

Hello :) Check the /etc/hosts file on these servers and make sure the localhost entry is valid. Thank you. 0 -
Thank you for the reply. We compared the etc/hosts files and saw there was a period after the localhost address causing the problem. Luckily there was only one affected server, which still performed very well. Everything is up to date and working great. Many thanks. 0 -
I am happy to see the issue is now resolved. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
