Multiple Recipients Not receiving email
Hi - I have a problem with email on cPanel (11.42.1 (build 21)). I'm sure it's something I'm overlooking as I'm a novice with cPanel :)
Basically, I have setup a number of email accounts (lets say userA@domain, userB@domain, userC@domain). I can send email (from my test gmail account) individually to each of these users but when I attempt to send an email to userA@domain AND userB@domain, only the email account in the list will receive the mail. It does this whether the second email address is in the 'To:' field or 'cc:' field.
I have setup an account level filter on each of the email accounts (regex match on 'To:' field redirecting userA.+@ to userA@ which I'm pretty sure is causing the problem. (I have removed the filters and the problem goes away). But according to my tests, the filters shouldn't be triggered anyway.
I need the filters as the email accounts were setup as firstname@domain, but I also want firstname.surname@domain (and also to catch some mis-spellings).
Please help!!
Thanks, in advance,
Tony

Hello :) Have you tried setting up forwarders instead of account level filters to see if that allows the delivery of the email while still forwarding the email? Thank you. 0 -
Hi, thanks for the reply, I know that forwarding works, but I wanted to use a regex to catch a number of mis-spellings of surnames. If I I change the filters to 'To:' 'begins with' 'userA.surname', I 've found that this behaviour works, it seems to only be a problem when using a regex. 0 -
Could you post the exact filter entry you are using? Thank you. 0 -
I'm using filters which look like this: .vB 0 -
The following thread discusses patterns used with regex that you may find helpful: cPanel and regex Thank you. 0 -
Hi - thanks Michael, I'm not sure that helps. The filter I've created works as long as I only have one recipient. Any subsequent recipients do not get their mail. 0 -
I suggest contacting your web hosting provider if the entry you are using is not working as you feel it's intended to. You hosting provider will be able to review the Exim logs and determine if there are any specific reasons why the filter is not working as intended. Thank you. 0
