Cleaning up mailman

Hi all, There are a few threads about tidying up old mailman archives to reduce used disk space, but one thing I couldn't find out is the separation between the `mbox` file and the txt / .gz files. One mbox on my server is 500+MB and it would be nice to bring that down to a more sensible size. The e-mail archives for the list are still there, so what is the mbox file for? And how can I reduce its size? Thanks, Allan
