server freezed, how can i find the reason?
Last week my cpanel server was freezen "without a reason"
I checked messages.log without informations (that time)
( i can exclude network- and datacenter problems)
And generally my server sends me emails, if the cpu is high loaded.
This happens me twice(within 2 months) and i must do a hard-reset,
to solve the problem. And the server runs then without problems.
But i want to prevent the down-times, so is there a other method,
to find out the reason?
thank you

Can you confirm your server specs? Are you within the minimum required specs to run cPanel? 0 -
i7 quad-core 32gig ram There should be no specs problem :) 0 -
but i have no performance problems ! 0 -
A performance problem is usually the reason that a server freezes. Usually, what happens is the load increases so much that the server stops responding. I gave you information about troubleshooting performance problems, because they are usually the underlying reason behind a server freezing. 0 -
thank you for the fast reply. it can be then individual cases(for the high load), why the server freezes. I thought about software-problems before.. 0 -
If you are sure the server load never spikes up to an unacceptable level, it is possible that there is a hardware problem or a kernel bug at fault. cPanel would not have any control over either of those things. My recommendation would be to ask your data center for help with isolating the cause of the problem. 0
