Assign a new IP address to the primary network interface

    WHM will only assign IP aliases, it will not change the configured network settings on your server. So yes, you need to change the IP in ifcfg-eth1 as well as possibly /etc/sysconfig/network (if your gateway is defined there), then restart networking services.

    Hello :) Yes, Vanessa is correct. There are no options in cPanel/WHM that will modify the network configuration itself. Please be careful when completing this on your own, as mistakes can lead to your server becoming inaccessible. Thank you.

    Thank you both for your answers. After all I didn't change the IP assigned to eth1 because my server provider advised me not to change the primary IP.
