extended jailed shell for reseller

A reseller customer wants access to all the files of his owned cpanel accounts. He needs this to do complex script updates across multiple cPanel accounts. What are the downsides of allowing a reseller-login access to all cPanel accounts owned by him in jailed-shell? How can we implement this?

  At present a reseller can switch between cPanel accounts, but cannot SSH to users it does not own. You can perhaps get around this with a custom script executed with sudo access from the reseller, that will let them su to accounts they own. This may not even be necessary though, because if SSH access is enabled on the server and you have the SSH Keys feature enabled, the reseller can simply switch to the user's cPanel, add their own SSH key, then log in as the user. It's slightly more tedious, but it is no extra work on your part.

  Hello :) Yes, you would have to use a method like the one Vanessa mentioned in the previous post (authorizing the SSH key in each cPanel account) because there is no native support for SSH access to multiple accounts as a single reseller. Thank you.
