FTP server not working consistently
Apologies that this is not the right forum, but there doesn't seem to be one for the FTP server.
When I've been using the FTP for a while, uploading, downloading, listing contents, etc, my ftp client times out during authentication and won't let me do what ever action I'm trying to do. If I restart the FTP server in WHM, it works for a bit and it seems to work for a bit if I leave it for a while. It's not much use when I'm trying to edit more than a couple of pictures on a website as I have to use the CPanel file manager.
I'm using Cyberduck on OS X Mavericks and not having any issues with any other FTP servers.

Hello :) Do you have any custom firewall rules or applications (e.g. CSF) installed on this system? Does the issue persists when the firewall is disabled? Thank you. 0 -
Hi there. It's an absolutely standard install of WHM as supplied by my hosting provider. I wasn't aware there was a firewall, so there shouldn't be any custom rules. A quick poke around and I can't find any evidence of a firewall in WHM. 0 -
Feel free to open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
I think the ticket number is 5261705 0 -
To update, it's suspected the customer is having brief connectivity issues that's not related to the FTP service itself, but rather from their local connection to the server. Thank you. 0
