Cannot use shared object (libmysqlclient.so.16)

We are using MYSQL 5.6 (when was 5.1 software was work fine). We have received error: /usr/bin/php: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.16: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory What can be wrong?

  After the upgrade, did you recompile Apache/PHP ? If not, recompile using EasyApache.
