MySQL Upgrade hung.
Morning folks - I finally got a suitable window to upgrade MySQL from 5.1 to 5.5 to 5.6 this morning, so began the process... logged in to WHM, got backups of all databases & related configs, and headed to Software > MySSQL Upgrade and set things going with as an unattended install, auto rebuilding Apache / PHP afterwards.
That was an hour ago. We've been sat on the output screen in WHM ever since, with very little going on.
Some digging around in logs shows the MySQL upgrade has completed, and MySQL is now running... as kinda given away by:
Note the time - that 2as at 8:59am. It's now 10am. The output window in WHM hasn't updated since 8:58am. Green progress bar is rolling across. I'd expect it to be on with the next step of rebuilding Apache & PHP... but checking in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/easy/apache, the last updated file was touched at 9:13am, and it's tail implies that THAT has also completed successfully...
Soooo... er... Do I presume we're done here, and bail out of the MySQL Upgrade output window in WHM presuming that the browser (Safari 7.0.4 {9537.76.4} on OS X 10.9.3) has timed out, and just run upcp --force so that I can finally leap from WHM 11.42.1 to 11.44? Hello :) The information you provided indicates the upgrade completed successfully, but the UI may have hung. Please feel free to update of cPanel and let us know if you encounter any issues. Thank you. 0 -
Aye - turns out IT Support had reset the switch i was connected to so IP address had changed, thus UI losing connection to server. All done - updated to WHM 11.44 / CENTOS 6.5! 0 -
I am happy to see you were able to determine the cause of the problem. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
