OwnCloud Doesn't Work
Hi,
What I am about to describe is (as far as I know) not possible. Nevertheless, it is happening. Any insight would be appreciated.
I have a customer who has been running OwnCloud which has been working great up till Today when it suddenly stopped working. I tried various things to debug the issue without success. Eventually, I started getting 403 Forbidden no matter what even just loading up a phpinfo file. I tried deleting and re-creating the account and was able to load up phpinfo.
However, once I re-uploaded a blank new copy of OwnCloud I started getting 403's again. Deleting the .htaccess file had no effect. Even deleting the entire OwnCloud installation didn't work.
This is the only file in the account (no .htaccess, nothing!):

Any ideas would be appreciated. How is this even possible?

Did you check the error logs in /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log? Perhaps the public_html ownership/permissions are wrong, which it sounds like. Should be user:nobody, 750. 0 -
Hello :) Yes, please review the Apache error log (/usr/local/apache/logs/error_log) to get a better idea of what's causing the 403 error code. Thank you. 0 -
Hi, It turns out the 403 was caused by incorrect permissions set on the public_html folder. The OwnCloud issue was unrelated. Thanks. Jeff 0 -
I am happy to see you were able to resolve the issue. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
