Increase SWAP File, SSH Login as Root

Please note we are new to managing a VPS and are having issues with available RAM/SWAP; We've reviewed several online articles about increasing the swap size, however through SSH we are unable to complete the task. We have a VPS with GoDaddy, 1 GB Ram, 40 GB Disk Space. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello :) You will likely need to consult with your web hosting provider for assistance with increasing the available memory on your VPS. It's typically only configurable from the VPS hardware node. Thank you.

  Typically you don't want to be using any swap. Most of the time with web servers, swap usage is just a stop on the short road to an out-of-memory (OOM) Kernel panic and crash/reboot. Get a server with more RAM.
