backup between servers
hello,
i was looking for a solution on forum but was unable to find it, I have 2 servers with same configuration, so I want to create a space for backup on each and viceversa, my questions are
1.- where should be located the remote backup (/home, /home2, /home3, /root, /usr, /usr/home, /web)
2.- sftp is the best option for security? is slower than ftp? ftp is fine?
3.- and the real question, when needed, how im gonna restore files and DB (or the whole thing) so i just have to change dns and done for each account
thanks ins advance

Hello :) You could use the backup option in WHM: "WHM Home " Backup " Backup Configuration" Setup an additional destination to transfer the backups to the remote server. The partition you choose depends on which one has available space (and preferably separate from your accounts). SFTP is acceptable and generally more secure than FTP. Backups are restored via: "WHM Home " Backup " Backup Restoration" Thank you. 0 -
just to add, "Restore a Full Backup/cpmove File" only have option to Restore with File and Restore with username, first case, does not read from server files but from my computer, and with username i have no idea how to do it 0 -

"WHM Home " Backup " Backup Restoration" allows you to restore backups that are stored on the server. Thank you.0 -

i dont see backup restoration from a file in the server [Removed], what i see is the default local restoration folder, but this will be another folder that comes from the other server, im missing something i guess0 -
Right, that's normal. You must upload the archives to the local server before you can restore them. This is documented here: Remote Restoration Thank you. 0
