ClamAV Usage High

I am in the process of installing ASSP for spam monitoring. One of their requirements is to install ClamAV through the WHM Plugins. I have not installed ASSP yet, so that is not the issue. I did, however, activate and install ClamAV from the plugin center in WHM. Over a few hours my swap usage jumped to 100% usage and stays there. If I remove ClamAV, it goes back to normal. I have a 2GB RAM VPS from Linode. Any ideas on how to resolve this so I can use ClamAV and ASSP?

  Hello :) How active is Exim on your system? Do you notice any errors in /var/log/exim_mainlog related to ClamAV or is this a highly active mail server? Thank you.
