Can you * certain folders in a path with rsync exclude?
For example if I wanted to not back up a users email, can I go:
daily/*/homedir/mail/*
This would be in the exclude file.
Or is there another way to not backup several paths by changing one catch all variable?
I am trying to add backups and want it to restore fast, so not including small files like email will help this.
I am rsyncing the /backup/cpbackup/daily/ files to another server.
Also any other file types you can think of to include here besides the ones CPanel already has?
I added:
error_log
*.log
For example.

Thanks, I read that and noticed none of the excluded paths have more than one folder */.wysiwygPro_* For example the path above is only 1 folder, not sure if a rule or coincidence. I have this now: daily/*/homedir/application_backups/* Maybe this is correct for it? */application_backups/* Or just: application_backups/* Does it need the full path or just the folder before it? Sorry I guess the hundreds of thousands of dollars I have paid to CPanel isn't enough to get some help. My bad. 0 -
