cron job -q shuts down the cron

Hi, I added some new cron jobs to day and i have noticed that they do not run if i have the -q for quiet mode in the command. Without the -q they all work perfect. It always worked fine with the -q before i xfered to this new VPS... Is this a feature i need to add or what can i do to allow the -q to work again. thanks
