Comodo SSL Webmail problem
Hello
I have purchased Comodo NameCheap SSL certificate and installed it on my shared VPS server.
I have applied that SSL to one domain (example.com) - no www.
So, now when I try to open website in https its ok, but when I add /webmail or port 2096 it opens the warning page again.
I must say that I purchased the SSL to remove that warning page. I know that I can do it if I disable force SSL, but its not a solution.
So, where did I made a mistake?
PS - example.com is not a hostname

The webmail and cPanel interfaces use the server wide certificate installed in the service SSL certificates section of WHM. Currently there is no supported way of installing per domain certificates for the webmail interface. Hello :) You can install the certificate for your services via: "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Manage Service SSL Certificates" However, note that you can only install one certificate per service. Thus, most administrators install one for the hostname of the server. Thank you. 0 -
Well, I had to install SSL sertificate for just one client. He is using one of the cPanel accounts on my VPS server. I did "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Manage Service SSL Certificates" and applied their certificate on WHM/cPanel/Webmail services. So, now their problem is solved. But now when I try to open WHM or another cPanel account i get this message: example.com:2096 uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: example2.com, [url=http://www.example2.com]example2.com (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain) Is it a problem if I continue using my server with this kind of errors when accessing my cPanel accounts? And how it will impact on my server performance/security? PS - Other clients are not using any SSL certificates on their websites. 0 -
There's no difference when it comes to security, but that warning message will appear until a user chooses to trust the certificate with their browser. It will also display that domain name to anyone who accesses that service securely. Thank you. 0 -
Just to conclude this issue: Server speed/performance is still the same? And I dont have to worry anything, except that anyone can see that domain name when accessing the page? 0 -
Hello, That is correct. There is no difference in speed or performance. It's simply a warning message telling you (or anyone else) that the certificate does not match and the user should be careful before continuing. That's all. 0 -
This is solved..... but I hope that this feature will pass someday... [url=http://features.cpanel.net/responses/ssl-certificate-per-domain-on-all-services]SSL certificate per domain on all services | cPanel Feature Requests Thanks again for your help 0
