Hello :) Are you able to setup POP3 with that same mail server name in an email client such as Thunderbird or Outlook? That would help determine if the issue is isolated to Google. Also, check to ensure the mail server name resolves to the correct IP address, and that Google's server are not blocked by any firewall rules on your system. Thank you.

Well i tried to outlook, it worked, i tried Thunderbird, it worked (though it needed manually installation). About to check the firewall rules in my system, can you help me and show me the way?

I suggest installing a third-party firewall management utility such as CSF if you are not comfortable checking iptables manually: ConfigServer Firewall Thank you.

Hi Michael. I am wondering if this issue was eventually resolved as I am having the same problem with gmail pop3 right now.

This is typically a configuration issue. Have you gone through the following and ensure these guidelines have been followed?

Thanks a lot for your swift response but the issue seems to be sorted. A colleague managed to resolve the issue and the email is working fine.

The issue is back again. The gmail POP3 is not fetching email once again. Do you mind guiding me on this? I tried initiating pop on outlook and it worked fine. So clearly the issue is with gmail. How do I check to ensure the correct server name resolves to the correct IP address? How do I ensure that my firewall is not blocking google. Please respond promptly as this is urgent.

Yes. This is the error I am getting. Outlook connects well though. Is gmail being blocked for some reason?

I use the following: Where mail.domain.tld is a CNAME for domain.tld - furthermore if those settings work sometimes and they don't work others, you may want to ensure that gmail isn't getting blocked in the firewall or cPhulk for some reason.

For my case, I think the best bet is the cPhulk approach because this is the second time that this has happened. How can I access cPhulk via Cpanel? Can I use the terminal in this case because my current OS is Windows 10?

You can use the terminal within cPanel on any OS and if you want to access cPanel over SSH (and you have shell access) you can do so using PuTTY Unfortunately, you can't access cPHulk from cPanel, you'd need to contact your hosting provider if you don't have WHM access.

Thanks so much Lauren for your time. Apparently, the hosting provider had DNS issues and that blocked any emails from coming through. The emails are fixed now and working fine.
