Hello :) Have you checked the server load or disk I/O at the time of the reported slowness to see if there were any load issues on the server? Thank you.

The server load seems fine. It's working fine on mac mail, iPhone etc. just on outlook and windows computers. Not just talking a couple. Over 300 accounts over 3 sites are all having the issue.

There is an entire thread on this you might find helpful: Troubleshooting High Loads On Linux Systems It goes into more than just server load, so you may find some additional helpful statistics. Thank you.

It goes into more than just server load, so you may find some of the additional tools on that thread helpful (e.g. memory and disk I/O). Thank you.

My server is showing a lot ov current IMAP processes, how would I kill these processes? Would that help? Does a restart kill them as I have tried that!

Restarting the mail server is not really going to help because the processes will just start back up again. You could try tweaking the Mailserver configuration via: "WHM Home " Service Configuration " Mailserver Configuration" There are a few options as you will see in the description that can alter the server performance. Also, review /var/log/maillog to see if you can determine if one particular account is using up most of the mail resources. Thank you.

Hey, Just curious to know, does your IMAP service gets killed/restarted in between ? chkservd logs might shed more light on this.

@ fishdigital, Did you faced this issue on particular time or everytime. What about I/O rate on that time. Could you please elaborate it.

Thanks for the response. Here's what got so far after doing some tests. 1. Mail works fine, except or a particular site. (300 staff). They are using outlook 2010. Which led me to believe it may have been that but any mail client on windows is having issues. Mac is fine. 2. The problem only arose 3 days ago. 3. The mail headers are getting messed up. For example the from header sometimes says the wrong sender. 4. Tried reinstalling new accounts on outlook but same problem. 5. ISP have checked everything and they say the line is fine. I really can't get to the bottom of this. Tried everything. Was wondering if it's a version issue if cpanel had upgraded itself as I read some where about issues with dovecot and new cpanel version Any help would be great

You can open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look. We won't be able to resolve issues related to your server load, but we can rule out any issues with the mail server. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you.
