MySQL RPM Installation Failures, upcp fails

Re: MySQL RPM Installation Failures, upcp failes Hello :) What version of MySQL do you see in /var/cpanel/cpanel.config? EX: grep mysql-version /var/cpanel/cpanel.config
Try modifying the value to 5.6 if it still shows up as 5.5 after the MySQL upgrade. Thank you.0 -
Re: MySQL RPM Installation Failures, upcp failes My upgrade did not completed, so it should not be the 5.6. Anyway, I just edited that file and saw that MYSQL version in it is 5.6 (and it should not be). I changed it to 5.5, and then I started check_cpanel_rpms which did this: [20140906.115332] > /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix [20140906.115332] The following RPMs are missing from your system: [20140906.115332] MySQL55-client-5.5.37-2.cp1136 [20140906.115332] MySQL55-devel-5.5.37-2.cp1136 [20140906.115332] MySQL55-shared-5.5.37-2.cp1136 [20140906.115332] MySQL55-test-5.5.37-2.cp1136 [20140906.115332] dovecot-2.2.13-1.cp1140 [20140906.115332] exim-4.82-4.cp1136 [20140906.115334] [20140906.115334] The following RPMs are unneeded on your system and should be uninstalled: [20140906.115334] MySQL56-client-5.6.17-1.cp1142 [20140906.115334] MySQL56-devel-5.6.17-1.cp1142 [20140906.115334] MySQL56-shared-5.6.17-1.cp1142 [20140906.115334] MySQL56-test-5.6.17-1.cp1142 [20140906.115419] Removing 0 broken rpms: [20140906.115419] rpm: no packages given for erase [20140906.115420] Downloading http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/11.40/cloudlinux/6/x86_64/rpm.md5 [20140906.115420] Downloading http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/11.36/cloudlinux/6/x86_64/rpm.md5 [20140906.115420] dovecot-2.2.13-1.cp1140.x86_64.rpm already downloaded [20140906.115420] MySQL55-shared-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm already downloaded [20140906.115420] MySQL55-client-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm already downloaded [20140906.115420] exim-4.82-4.cp1136.x86_64.rpm already downloaded [20140906.115420] MySQL55-devel-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm already downloaded [20140906.115420] MySQL55-test-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm already downloaded [20140906.115420] Hooks system enabled [20140906.115420] Checking for and running RPM::Versions 'pre' hooks for any RPMs about to be installed warn [check_cpanel_rpms] program "/scripts/preeximup" is not executable warn [check_cpanel_rpms] program "/scripts/predovecotup" is not executable [20140906.115420] All required 'pre' hooks have been run [20140906.115421] Uninstalling unneeded rpms: MySQL56-test MySQL56-client MySQL56-shared MySQL56-devel [20140906.115424] Installing new rpms: dovecot-2.2.13-1.cp1140.x86_64.rpm MySQL55-shared-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm MySQL55-client-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm exim-4.82-4.cp1136.x86_64.rpm MySQL55-devel-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm MySQL55-test-5.5.37-2.cp1136.x86_64.rpm [20140906.115424] Preparing packages for installation... I was free from the unneeded MYSQL 5.6 rpm files, which allowed me to run the upcp --force without any issues. But, I started the MYSQL 5.5 -> 5.6 upgrade once again, hoping that my problem is somehow solved, but it's not. The MYSQL Upgrade gave me this output:Beginning MySQL upgrade... Re: MySQL RPM Installation Failures, upcp failes Please let us know if you see output such as this during the MySQL upgrade: [QUOTE]Some previous upgrade was not finished: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 311 Sep 28 12:00 /var/lib/mysql/RPM_UPGRADE_MARKER Please check its status, then do rm /var/lib/mysql/RPM_UPGRADE_MARKER
If so, check to ensure the previous upgrade process has ended and run the suggested command. Thank you.0 -
Re: MySQL RPM Installation Failures, upcp failes Hey there! I am having this exact same issue. UCPC fails at 17%, no errors listed. I have tried: /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix /scripts/upcp --force Changing mysql-version= in the /var/cpanel/cpanel.config file to 5.6 (was 5.5), then re-running the fix Manually removing all mysql packages and installing mysql 5.5 again (And editing above file to fix, running check rpms, running force update). All fail the same way. I went to send in a ticket, but I can't get my support ID because if I login to WHM it says "cPanel & WHM update in progress. This functionality is not available until the cPanel update is complete." and if I run the SSH command "/usr/local/cpanel/cpanel -S", it says "/usr/local/cpanel/cpanel: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/514/lib64/perl5/cpanel_lib/x86_64-linux-64int/auto/Cpanel/Optimizer/Optimizer.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Additionally, all websites and emails on the site are down. Can you please help me fix it? 0 -

Hey kUdtiHaEX/DarthCaniac, Can you guys let me know, how much RAM does your server come with ? I was able to see issues on many 1GB server's while mysql is upgraded to 5.6! 0 -
@triantech: I have 16GB on mine :) ---------- Update on server: Awesome cPanel support team logged into my server and was able to fix the issues I was having. Their response was: [QUOTE]There were a lot of duplicate cPanel RPMs installed, as well as a MySQL RPM conflict.
If you're having this problem: Back up EVERYTHING (If you already have, you are awesome!) Then you will want to locate any and all MySQL RPMs and remove them. Be they installed from YUM, RPM, or any other package manager, then the update should work.0 -

I am having exactly the same issue. Stuck on 17% and unable to get support ID to lodge a request due to the error. I have emailed cPanel support. Looks like a common issue?0 -
