Who is responsble for DS Record? Registrar or via WHM?
Hi
I'm weaning myself away from shared hosting where all I had to to was update ns1, ns2 - that's it. Now I'm needing to make sure that DNS is correct for my employer's website. With a dollop of paranoia (security) and dash of perfectionism, I'm being particularly eager to use e.g. intodns.com as a starting point.
I'm asking these questions assuming that they're related to WHM/cPanel especially.
My current registrar say: I am afraid that this is not a service that we provide.
So whose responsibility is to make sure that parts related to the DS Record are correct - strictly speaking?
How significant is this from dnscheck.pingdom advanced view:
DNSSEC
Begin testing DNSSEC for ---.org.uk.
Did not find DS record for ---.org.uk at parent.
Servers for ---.org.uk have consistent extra processing status.
Did not find DNSKEY record for ---.org.uk at child.
No DNSKEY(s) found at child, other tests skipped.
Done testing DNSSEC for ---.org.uk.
Test completed for zone ---.org.uk.

Hello :) This is not currently supported with cPanel, but please see the feature request for this here: [url=http://features.cpanel.net/responses/as-a-sever-administrator-i-want-support-for-dnssec-so-that-i-can-ensure-authenticated-responses-through-the-validating-resolver]DNSSEC | cPanel Feature Requests You can vote and add your feedback. I see, so it's a Platform related matter, and not related to the Registar - e.g. DNS. Well, it makes good sense for it to be, why not(?) Thanks :) Dylan 0 -
Oh, actually, it seems it's a mix of both parties, the Registrar and cPanel in this case: [url=http://wiki.gandi.net/en/domains/dnssec#how_to_install_dnssec_on_your_domain_name]DNSSEC - Welcome to Gandi's Online Documentation Wiki - Gandi Docs 0
