Configuring Spam Assassin?

I'm using Spam Assassin on GoDaddy servers with hosted client email accounts. I originally had Span Assassin set to the default score of 5, but many of my clients were still getting a lot of SPAM. I've lowered it a few times and we're now down to 3.5, but they're still getting a lot of SPAM. I did confirm that SA is enabled, so that's not the problem. I also see that a lot of the SPAM they're getting is coming from .eu addresses, but I can't block .eu outright because some of my other clients receive legitimate emails from European addresses. My client wants me to lower the SA score even further, but I'm concerned that doing so will start to filter out legitimate emails. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on the best way to configure SA? Thanks.

  Hello :) Have you reported this SPAM to your hosting provider to see if they can do anything from the "root" level to help prevent the SPAM? You could try implementing an account level filter if the SPAM messages are similar or follow a pattern. Thank you.
