DNS-Only IP address has changed, but new IP isn't being recognized by DNS Cluster setup in WHM...
Hello,
We have four DNS-Only cpanel servers that are used for hosting the DNS of all our shared web servers.
ns1.ourdomain.com
ns2.ourdomain.com
ns3.ourdomain.com
ns4.ourdomain.com
The IP address for "ns2" has changed, but it doesn't seem to be reflected in any of the DNS Cluster configuration for the associated web servers. We're getting emails from all our associated web servers saying:
[QUOTE]DNS cluster errors on web1.ourdomain.com
Does anyone know what is necessary to change the ns2 IP address? Here is what we have done:

- Changed "A" record DNS for "ns2.ourdomain.com" so it uses the new IP address.
- Updated the nameserver registration with InterNIC so this private nameserver uses the new IP address.

Seriously? We have around 100 servers. Manually removing and re-adding is the only way to change the IP for a DNS-Only nameserver?0 -
Re: DNS-Only IP address has changed, but new IP isn't being recognized by DNS Cluster setup in WHM.. As far as I can tell, the IP address of the hostname at the time the server is added to the cluster is used for the connections. Could you open a support ticket so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0
