Presumption: WHM VPS dead. Backup available
Last night node where my WHM VPS was dead for 1 hour, I thought everything is lost but the node come back to live.
Lets presume WHM VPS is compromised but accounts backup are available on ftp location. Will I be able to install WHM on anther VPS and connect it to initial ftp account and restore all accounts ?
Also whats the best practice to fully back everything including WHM and by a simple restore function to restore the whole VPS content ? Snap shoots ?

@crossing, Buy new VPS and your hosting provider will install cpanel, etc... Backup are available on ftp location ? means vps ? If so, the best option is you need to sync the account to new sersver and restore it. 0 -

You'll need to move the backups back to the new server from the remote location. Have a look here: WHM " Backup " Restore a Full Backup/cpmove File This feature will restore full backups, cPanel backups, and cPanel move files and save them in one of the following formats: cpmove-{USER} cpmove-{USER}.tar cpmove-{USER}.tar.gz {USER}.tar {USER}.tar.gz backup-{BACKUP-DATE_TIME}_{USER}.tar backup-{BACKUP-DATE_TIME}_{USER}.tar.gz The files must be in one of the following directories on the server: /home, /home2, /home3, /root, /usr, /usr/home, /web

There is no way to fully backup WHM and it's settings. There is this very active Feature Request that you might like to know about though: Clone a cPanel server configuration to a new server (excluding server specific items) - cPanel Feature Requests0
