    Hello :) Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you.

    Before we go on a goose chase, I didn't post any updates on this issue because I found out that this particular server is the only one we have left still in an old cPanel version which has come to its EOL (WHM 11.32.7). I would guess that something broke over the years and since its in an eof of life state, it is no longer fixed. *edit* Is there a way to at least upgrade from 11.32 to 11.38?

    You can update the "CPANEL=" entry in /etc/cpupdate.conf to the following:
    CPANEL=11.38
    Save the file, and then force an update of cPanel via:
    /scripts/upcp --force
    If this completes successfully, then it's likely a good idea to proceed with updating cPanel to a newer version. Thank you.

    The CPANEL= entry already says "11.38" (probably because that is what I selected via the WHM interface?). But all upgrade attempts fail with:
    fatal,Newer releases of cPanel & WHM are not compatible with your operating system. Upgrade your OS, or use the Update Preferences screen to select a Long-Term Support release for use with your OS. Please see our OS End of Life policy for more information
    The above contents are also seen in the file: /var/cpanel/update_blocks.config

    What OS is installed on your server? You can check with a command such as:
    cat /etc/redhat-release
    Thank you.

    CentOS 4 is EOL and no longer supported. You will need to backup your accounts to a remote location and install an updated OS, or transfer the accounts to a new server that uses CentOS 6. Thank you.

    heh yea I figured that much. It is the last server that we've got left in this state. Eventually we'll go around and move it.
