Problem with wildcard subdomain
Hi all,
When I add a wildcard subdomain in an account it doesn't work, it keeps redirecting to something like http://test.example.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi
I created an include file for that domain in the httpd.conf with one line: "ServerAlias *.example.com". I had to delete the wildcard subdomain from the cpanel account and create the DNS record manually and now it's working. But I would like to be able to just create the wildcard subdomain from the cpanel, if it is needed in another account in the future. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? Or how can I have the desired functionality? I'm not the most advanced user, but I don't mind researching and self teaching, so any clue or tip would be great. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

Hello :) You may want to try clearing the DNS and browser cache on your workstation after adding the entry in cPanel. It should work when added through the interface and you should not have to configure the record manually. Thank you. 0 -
Hi, thanks for your answer, I did it, I even tried with random subdomains, and it just didn't work. 0 -
