Locked Out of WHM, Cpanel, SSH, FTP...
Ha... Its really is one of them days... Friday the 13th.
Hi, i really need some advice/help. Web App i am developing with my team, last physical back up 16th September that we can actually get our hands on....
External HDD we back up on to is fried, we can salvage the 16th version... Bakok + AWS backup we can not find any files yet data has been used (daily backup), These were our contingencies, naturally we are feeling the pain now....
Server VPS Centos (which is likely where we went wrong having no experience with, just set up for the backups and naturally it appears like they have failed, never thought to look before...).
We are hosted with TransIP (literally stay away from, useless...). who suggested a rollback (yes we have images taken every week, however we only have copies from 26th sep, 11th oct and this morning.
Even rolling back does not appear to be resolving this issue.*(we have tried this)... now the crunch 10 developers working 12 hours a day = approx 2000 hours of work lost. and i mean lost at this point...
The silver-lining, we still have access to Centos boot mode (doctor version) where we can reset the SSH Password... Yet we reset it and it has absolutely no effect i.e we can still not login... root/whm.. anywhere....
When we try and access via root ssh password is incorrect, same as ftp, same as whm... and to top it cpanel neither works so we can not get a copy of everything on the server.... and to make it even better TransIP provide no physical facility to scratch their behinds let alone take a copy of the server and supply to us to resolve locally, such as digging our files out. or even them resetting and resolving locally.
I have a feeling it is CPHulk causing all these nightmares, as all a sudden we were kicked of our own server FTP wise and it is the only logical reason to me that we have been unable to access since... (why Cpanel doesnt offer 2 factor ill never know...).
So the nit of it is : How can i access (using the boot console i am guessing) and remove / stop cphulk or resolve this mess.... oh and the stop cphulk for 5/8 minutes does not work as using the console it comes back with no file or directory exists with these details...
Thank you

Hello :) Have you checked to see if your provider can boot the server into single-user mode, reset the root password (and stop cPhulkd), and provide you with the updated authentication details? Thank you. 0
