PostgreSQL Question
We are looking at testing a few programs that require either PostgreSQL or Oracle. I tried to install PostgreSQL into our cPanel but it appears to have changed the password to my root account. Is that really possible or did I get hacked?

Hello :) Could you elaborate on what password changed? Installing PostgreSQL will not alter the root password of your system. Thank you. 0 -
It appears it was my computer giving me issues. Keyboard wasn't functioning correctly and was missing a few keys. Freaked me out though :) 0 -
New question ~ I installed using the RPM installer in WHM and now I get this when I go to cPanel The PostgreSQL server is currently offline. Error in CPANEL.validate.add: could not find element 'dbname' in the DOM It doesn't appear to break anything else. 0 -

Could you elaborate further on the action you took? Thank you.0 -
From WHM, Software, Install an RPM, found the PostgreSQL install (there were two). Clicked on one of them and watched it install. It said completed. Went to cPanel for one of our sites and saw the PostgreSQL option. Click on it and get the above errors. 0 -
Please ensure you use the instructions from the following document when installing PostgreSQL on your server: Install or Update PostgreSQL on Your cPanel & WHM Server Thank you. 0
