WHM cannot login as Root

Trying to troubleshoot, why i suddenly cannot login as root on WHM server. I am able to login under a different SSH account, so i have access to the terminal on the box. Should I try changing the password, or, is there something else related to WHM that may be preventing the login. I was on earlier this morning, so the login credentials i have should be correct. I saw some other threads related to CPHulk... Is this normally the culprit?

  yes, its always the cphulk, seems like server is hammered via brute force attacks... you can always whitelist a static ip and use this one to get in...

  cphulk was the culprit. I got my provider to assist and this time i remembered to whitelist my ip address.
