SpamAssassin score settings. Are there alternatives?

I have a client on my server that is complaining that he is getting a lot of spam despite SpamAssassin being turned on in cpanel and set to auto-delete at a threshold score of 3. I would turn him down to a score of 2 but he is worried it might block legitimate messages at that point. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to fix this? Do I need to adjust other settings or do I need to think about doing something other than SpamAssassin? -MaestroC

  Hello :) It's likely a good idea to implement some account level filters that block specific types of SPAM messages the user is receiving. Beyond that, root access is required if you want to implement additional options (e.g. RBL blocking) to help prevent SPAM so you may need to consult with your hosting provider about this. Thank you.
