Transfer Speed

Hello :) Are you connecting between the two servers with a private IP address? This is typically the case of a router or firewall rule at the data center that limits the transfer speed between the two servers. Try uploading or downloading a test file between the two servers using wget or SFTP to show the data transfer rate to your data center. Thank you.

I am connecting using the hostname IP's for the servers. The servers are in different DC's, with different providers. I have tried wget via SSH as well as using the transfer tool in WHM, and see the same slow results.

The fact that it happens with "wget" indicates it's a network issue as opposed to an issue with the cPanel transfer process. Please ensure you post the slow results from wget (including rate of transfer) to your data center so they can review it and determine why it's slow. You may need to consult with both providers to see which one is at fault. Thank you.

I agree that it is not the cPanel process causing the slowdown. After a bit of testing, I am able to max out the 100mbps port on both servers when transferring, downloading and uploading, just not between these two servers. Neither provider has been able to shed any light on the problem, other than both say there may be an issue with the route between the upstream providers. Any ideas?

Hello. Do you have SSH access to both Servers? How about MTR from 1 to 2 then 2 to 1? Search Google for: "How To Use Traceroute and MTR to Diagnose Network Issues" if you are not sure about MTR. Best Regards, Trifon.
