FTP and Backupbuddy Issues
Hi,
I've set up a whm/cpanel server with centos and used the normal config.
I've already transfered accounts from my old cpanel server to the new one which works fine.
But I now found some errors which are really critical:
1. I can connect through ftp. Browse the folders, but can't do any changes or upload new files. My FTP Clients show simply connection refused errors.
The log (cat /var/log/messages ) is only showing up connection information like this:

I've created a new account and uploaded a backupbuddy (wordpress plugin) backup file and it's script importbuddy.php - I used wget to accomplish that because ftp is not working. I've copied the files in the web root directory of the account and used chmod and chgrp to match the account owners profile. When I've opend up the importbuddy script I have to enter a password. On the new cpanel server the script says the password is wrong - on the other cpanel server it's working fine. Also on the new cpnel server the images are not showing up when I launch the importbuddy.php file (2 small logos). ---------- Nothing is showing up in the logs. Very strange - Somebody has an idea what can cause this errors? Thanks, Dirk

Try to reset the main cpanel account password or try to execute this via SSH: /scripts/ftpupdate 0 -
I've tested it out but still the same problem. I also got an email several nights that cpanel update hangs. It says the following: /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp was running as pid '4096' for longer than 6 hours. cPanel will kill this process and run a new upcp in its place.
When I run it manually ( /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp ) it just runs fine. Hi, thanks for the reply. I've tried it out, but it did not resolve my problem. I've also received an Cpanel Update Hang email this night. When I run the update manually it completes fine. Very strange. Any other ideas? Thanks 0 -
Hello :) Let's work to resolve the FTP issue first. Keep in mind it's a good idea to open a separate thread for each individual issue. Are you using a firewall such as CSF? If so, does the issue persist when it's temporarily disabled? Thank you. 0
