Amazon s3 backups not deleting.

I'm running WHM 11.44.1 (build 19) and using Amazon s3 backup - I noticed tonight that even though I have a retention schedule on place, it is not removing the backup files from Amazon when the retention period is reached. For example, I have: Daily set to keep 5 - Amazon has 3. Weekly set to 3, Amazon has 7 weeks Monthly set to 1, Amazon has 3 (about when I deployed this particular server) The backup drive on the server looks like the retention is correct. But isn't the backup system supposed to remove the backup files after a certain amount of time? Here are my settings, but they don't appear to delete from Amazon S3. .vB

  It seems to me that many of the 'new' features in cPanel have been 'least effort' attempts. The backup feature to S3 is a good example. Its so inflexible it makes it unusable. Backing up to S3 without management of old backups means storage requirements in S3 grow and grow - along with our bill unless we do manual deletion of old backups. Whats the point?

  Has anyone managed to find a solution or workaround for this? Or if this is a feature that is likely to be implemented anytime soon?

  There is an easy solution for this: You can set up auto-delete rules within Amazon S3. They call it Lifecycle Management. Set the rules up on your whole bucket, or individual folders. You choose the timeframe for when files should be automatically deleted (e.g. 35 days old).
