How does a restore work?
I had a disaster with my website theme (Wordpress) and lost all my customizations. I tried to restore the site using the backups I made with cPanel. I suppose the uploads of the files went okay because after each upload there was a browser screen that said something like "uploads complete" or words to that effect, followed by a long list of files. (I didn't save the screens.) But the site didn't revert back to its previous state.
Is there more to doing a "restore" than just uploading the files? Watching the tutorial video didn't shed any light on this at all.

Hello :) Are you using the "Restore a Home Directory Backup" option through cPanel or are you attempting to manually upload the files? Note that for full cPanel-generated backups, you must have your hosting provider complete the restore for you. Thank you. 0 -

Well, I didn't see anything about that on cPanel. That is what finally happened, after I contacted them, but I only contacted them because it seemed like it wasn't working right. Thanks for the info.0 -
Wordpress has some really great backup plugins that work better than using cPanel for backups. The allow you to restore files or/and database. These are simple to install for next time. 0 -
